I would like to cordially invite you and your family to attend the 70th Annual VOS meeting at the Boar's Head, Charlottesville, April 21-23, 2017. I know you will enjoy all that Charlottesville has to offer and will enhance your orthopaedic practice by receiving 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
The VOS program Chairs, Dr. David Weiss and Dr. Winston Gwathmey, together with the program committee, have put together a comprehensive program for the annual meeting. This year’s program is packed with outstanding content for all orthopaedic surgeons and we look forward to bringing together providers from throughout the state, including residents, fellows and physician assistants.
We are excited to have our keynote speakers: Dr. John Clohisy from Washington University in St. Louis, and Dr. Andrew Burgess from the University of Texas at Houston. The program will start on Friday afternoon with a reception with our sponsors as well as the poster session. We are introducing a “Resident Quiz Bowl” Friday evening in which residents from UVA and VCU will face off with pride on the line (as well as the Quiz Bowl trophy). Saturday will kick off with research presentations from Orthopaedic leaders around the state followed by timely topics on arthroplasty and fragility fractures. Dr. Clohisy will present his approach to hip arthritis in the young patient and lead a panel of experts in the discussion of controversial hip cases. After additional research presentations on Sunday morning, we will feature trauma topics on Sunday morning including the latest on fractures of the upper and lower extremity. Dr. Burgess will close the meeting with his outstanding insight into the history of the treatment of pelvic fractures.
Please join us in beautiful Charlottesville this spring as we work together to advance our collective knowledge of Orthopaedic Surgery and at the same time enjoy our friendship, as well as recreational and social events.
